Two South Sudanese Canadians stepped forward to run for councillor positions in Calgary and Edmonton, respectively. Although neither candidate secured a victory, their decision to stand for public office reflects remarkable courage and determination. Their efforts serve as an inspiration to all of us, especially to young people, demonstrating that participation, leadership, and representation begin with the willingness to try.
